10am on Saturday, 11 August, at the Clubhouse – Bishop Bevan Hall.
Our original caterer, for reasons beyond their control, are unable to look after us in the clubhouse. However, local ladies who fund-raise for Cancer Research Wales, have stepped into the void on Saturday and Sunday 11 and 12 August between midday and 6pm. (The clubhouse will be opened noon till late on Friday, 9am-10pm on Saturday, depending on need, and 9am-8pm on Sunday.) Any revenue raised by the ladies, who will charge very reasonable prices, will go directly to the charity which does ground-breaking research into early diagnosis and outcomes which obviously impacts on people throughout the UK and beyond.
There will be local brewery beer on tap as well as wine and soft drinks. Tea, coffee and home-made cake will be available as well as simple salads, bread rolls and snacks. If members want hot food, there is plenty of choice in the high street, which can be brought back to the clubhouse to eat in peace and comfort, while beverages can be bought from the ladies
MEMBERSHIP CARDS/RAFFLE PRIZES/CDs
Membership cards can be collected on Friday 10 August from 2pm onwards and will be needed to access Friends’ facilities. Please also bring along raffle prizes and CDs for sale. There will be no catering on Friday as most people will be travelling, checking into accommodation and attending Ian Shaw concert and Big Band at the Castle Hotel with dinner. There will however be self-service complimentary tea and coffee.
Thanks to those members who have already volunteered to steward. We still need some on Saturday and Sunday at the following times: Saturday 2-3, 5-6 and 6-7 and Sunday 12-1,2-3,3-4. For those who have not stewarded before, full instructions will be provided and there are usually plenty of ‘old hands’ around to help if in doubt.
